After a promising win against the Nashville Predators, the Senators continue their home stretch against the Philadelphia Flyers tonight. The injuries are piling up for the Senators but they’re still managing to play good hockey and win games.
Pierre Dorion was quoted as saying he would be willing to call up Olle Alsing in Sweden or Lassi Thomson, who is currently in the Czech Republic. At this point, I don’t think Dorion will get to this point but the idea is to not completely destroy the farm team trying to fill the voids in the big club, that and that fact that they can only really bring up the players with contracts.
On the bright side, Craig Anderson is back from injury even though Brady Tkachuk almost caused him a brand new one. During yesterday’s practice, a shot from Tkachuk hit Andy’s mask chipped one of his teeth as well as giving him four new crown replacements. FUN! The contrary news is the news release that Anders Nilsson will be out indefinitely with a concussion, let’s hope he’s given all the time needed to recover properly.
- With Ron Hainsey out indefinetly with a knee injury, Thomas Chabot’s indurance will be heavily tested. After playing almost 38 minutes against the Tampa Bay Lightning, he wasn’t given much rest against the Predators logging almost 34 minutes in the game. If Hainsey’s injury takes long, will Dorion be forced to make a quick trade or keep pushing Chabot?
- Colin White finally scored a goal against the Predators, could this be the confidence booster he needs? White will need to start impressing really quickly before Dorion brings up his replacement from Belleville soon.
- Anthony Duclair’s overtime goal against the Predators was one to remember, he has been absolutely incredible this month; what more can we see from him?
- Craig Anderson hasn’t been terrible this season but he hasn’t been fantastic either, with a possibly long absence by Nilsson; will Hogberg finally get his chance to shine? Andy will start tonight but I suspect Hogberg will be getting a few more start soon./
