Game 82 Hub: Ottawa Senators @ Boston Bruins

Appreciate your being shut out yesterday, Ottawa Senators. Makes editing the stat tables slightly easier than usual.

Mercifully, we're finally coming to the end of the 2023-24 season. All that's left is 60 painful minutes of road hockey against the Boston Bruins, who are a single point ahead of the Florida Panthers for the Atlantic Division lead.

Line combos will be updated soon, though we can at least assume Anton Forsberg will get the start on the second half of a back-to-back.

Game Notes

• With a 14-12-0 record, Anton Forsberg is guaranteed to secure a winning record this season. His save percentage? A modest .886.
• A win tonight would guarantee the Senators go into the lottery with the 7th overall pick. A loss in regulation coupled with a Montreal Canadiens win over the Detroit Red Wings will see the Sens finish dead-last in the Atlantic, with either the 5th or 6th pick depending on the results of the Arizona-Edmonton game tomorrow. I'll certainly be rooting for the Habs here, but not for the reasons you'd expect. I couldn't care less about draft position and which teams make the playoffs. I want the most embarrassing finish possible for these players. They fancy themselves playoff contenders at the start of the year and end up below the Habs. Serves them right. If that doesn't light a fire under them next year, nothing will. Who are we playing tonight, again?
• The Bruins, right. Despite another fantastic record, they continue to put up some surprisingly mediocre numbers, ranking behind Ottawa in shots for, shots against, and 5-on-5 Corsi For%. But they have 109-point scorer David Pastrnak and the occasional save, which is what really matters.
• It's a 7:00 pm EST start, and the game is available on RDS2, TSN5, and TSN1200.
