AHL Announces 2019-2020 Cancellation

The American Hockey League announced the official cancellation of the 2019-20 season today.

In an expected media release, the American Hockey League announced the cancellation of the 2019-20 season today.

While there’s still a push to have the NHL resume its season, it just isn’t financially feasible for the AHL to move forward regardless of where this global health pandemic takes us.

For Senators fans, this expected announcement comes with a bit of disappointment. While it’s the best decision for the league to make, the Belleville Senators were in the midst of a fantastic season with a team that looked poised to make a playoff run.
