Where, Oh Where, Will Pageau Go?

Time for our Weekly Question!

Look, it’s never easy to lose core players. We’ve been through it a lot in Ottawa over the past three or so years, with the likes of Erik Karlsson, Kyle Turris, Matt Duchene, and Mark Stone all leaving town. Now, things seem to be improving in the capital, but we may not be out of the woods yet.

The 96th overall pick in the 2011 draft, Jean-Gabriel Pageau needs no introduction. Establishing himself as a fan favourite, and clutch performer in his very first game, he remains one of the most beloved players in Ottawa Senators history.

Now, in the midst of a career season at age 27, Pageau seems like one of the best candidates for another trade. There’s a laundry list of reasons for this, including a stacked 2020 Draft, and if you’re interested in hearing that side of the argument, I wrote about it in a piece a couple months ago.

That said, maybe you don’t agree. Maybe you’re of the opinion that the Senators shouldn’t trade Jean-Gabriel Pageau at any price. Maybe you believe he should be dealt only under the right circumstances. Maybe I should stop saying maybe.

So this week, there’s no poll. I don’t want to put you fine folks in a box in regards to what you think could happen. Make it specific, make it vague, make it whatever you want, the world is your oyster. Just let us know in the comments below.

The question for this week is simple: Where will J.G. Pageau be after the 2020 Trade Deadline?
