Update: Ducks acquire Kesler, no longer potential destination for Spezza

Ryan Kesler has been traded to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Nick Bonino, Luca Sbisa, and a first-round draft pick.

Ryan Kesler of the Vancouver Canucks has been traded to the Anaheim Ducks. The Canucks obtain forward Nick Bonino, defenseman Luca Sbisa, and the Ducks' first-round pick (24th overall). Additionally, the Ducks trade their third-round pick (85th overall) for the Canucks' third-round pick in 2015.

The Ducks had been touted as a potential trading partner for Jason Spezza of the Ottawa Senators. The package for Kesler is similar to what Bryan Murray has reportedly requested in return for Spezza: a roster player (Bonino), a younger player (Sbisa) and a 2014 first-round pick.

This trade leaves the St. Louis Blues as the most likely destination for Spezza trade as per media reports, with the Chicago Blackhawks, Dallas Stars, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Arizona Coyotes, and Nashville Predators also rumoured to be potential destinations.
