  • The Morgan Rielly/Ridley Greig soap opera didn't need more drama but we got it anyway. Gary Bettman this week dismissed the Leafs pleas to overturn the suspension. According the Bettman, Rielly's hurt feelings about a great empty net slapshot are "utterly irrelevant". As many had argued before, Rielly had a lot of time to assess what kind of reaction to have and decided that shoving his stick into the neck/face of Greig was the best solution.
  • It seems to be a regular occurrence now but Las Vegas Golden Knights' Captain will be out long-term with an injury. Not related, the Knights are tight against the Cap as the trade deadline approaches. I also wonder if Mark Stone will be healthy for the first game of the playoffs, you know, just by absolute coincidence.
  • I hope the Coyotes find a way to stay in Arizona, only to be able to fulfill their biggest fan's dream of playing for the team. In his hometown, Auston Matthews had a dazzling game scoring 2 goals to become the fastest US-born player to get to 50 goals. I hope one day Brady Tkachuk finds a way to break that record.
  • The NCAA are in full planning mode for the upcoming Frozen Four tournament. ESPN breaks down the ice ahead of the selections.
  • Not hockey related by the Ottawa Senators will now be sharing their home with the Ottawa Black Bears as the Capital city welcomes the new addition to the National Lacrosse League. The Ottawa Black Bears will be relocating from New York next season where they are currently playing as the NY Riptide.
  • Concerning news coming from the OHL once again. This week an investigation into the Sudbury Wolves has started as allegations of a bounty placed on an opposing player for a hard hit have come to surface.
  • Travis Yost takes yet another look at Tim Stützle vs the rest of the 2020 draft class. Spoiler: He looks good.
  • Over at The Athletic, Ian Mendes talks about the Sens performance under Martin vs Smith, and early Martin vs recent Martin. He also has an update on Pinto's guinea pig, Ace.
