- After a hard-fought series, the Washington Capitals eliminated the Montreal Canadiens in 5 games. The Habs came into the elimination game without their starter goalie and missing Patrik Laine.
- The Florida Panthers also eliminated the Tampa Bay Lightning last night, and Eetu Luostarinen of all people played hero with a goal and three assists. This series was less close than expected.
- After announcing an expansion team in Vancouver, the PWHL has announced another team; this time in Seattle. The new team will be sharing the Climate Pledge Arena with the Seattle Kraken.
- Did the Utah Hockey Club accidentally leak their new team? It seems so, but the team is insisting they're still in the process. Thanks to the keen eyes of some fans, the name "Utah Mammoth" was notched on the team's new YouTube channel. Was it a ploy to test the reaction or just an honest mistake?
- Utah will not only have a new name in the upcoming season but the owner has announced the official start of renovations at Delta Centre. The aim is to create a dual-sport facility to make room for ideal conditions for both basketball and hockey games.
- After the Pittsburgh Penguins and Mike Sullivan decided to part ways, he suddenly became the hot commodity on the coaching market. It's only been a few days and it is reported that 5 teams have reached out for his services.
- The Vancouver Canucks have also announced that head coach Rick Tocchet will not return behind the bench next season. No replacement has announced as the team still has all summer to see who becomes available.
