Stanley Cup Playoffs, day sixteen: Canucks/Predators; Binghamton also plays
Round one of the Stanley Cup playoffs finished last night, and round two will begin tonight. The home team went 23-26 in the first round, meaning the road club won 53% of the games. Home ice hasn't been a huge advantage so far in the playoffs. There is only one NHL game tonight, so by default, the Silver Seven Game of the Night (brought to you by Booster Juice, the official smoothie supplier of Silver Seven Sens) is the Nashville Predators against the Vancouver Canucks.
If Nashville wants to have a realistic chance in this series, I think they have to win tonight. Vancouver just finished a tough seven game series against their arch rivals, and they must be physically and emotionally drained. Nashville has been off since Sunday, and they have to win one of the two games in Vancouver. Their best chance of that has to be tonight. If this series heads to the deep south at 2-0 Vancouver, it's over for Nashville. No, I didn't forget the last round. Nashville's got a decent team, but Vancouver has too much firepower for Nashville.
The Binghamton Senators also continue their series tonight looking to take a 2-0 lead back home. Robin Lehner will once again get the start, and is currently 4-0 in his playoff career. Ryan Potulny also remains red hot with a ridiculous 16 points in 8 playoff games.
Tonight's schedule
- 5) Nashville Predators at 1) Vancouver Canucks (9:00 p.m. on CBC, series tied 0-0)
- 3) Binghamton Senators at 1) Portland Pirates (7:00 p.m. on Team 1200, Binghamton leads 1-0)
Adnan's completely random predictions of the night
- Vancouver 4 Nashville 1, Go Nucks!
- Binghamton 5 Portland 3, Go Baby Sens!
