Stanley Cup Playoffs, day 55: Binghamton's big shot

Tonight is the biggest game of the season for the Binghamton Senators. They'll take their 3-2 series lead into Houston and try their damnedest to clinch the series in the first opportunity and win their first-ever Calder Cup Championship in the process.

Tonight marks the most significant game in the professional careers of many Ottawa Senators prospects to date, including most notably Robin Lehner, Bobby Butler, Jared Cowen (should he be healthy enough to suit up), Zack Smith, Colin Greening, and a whole lot more on this young B-Sens team.

Of them all, though, most would agree that Robin Lehner has been the most impressive of the playoffs so far. After beginning the post-season as the backup, Lehner stepped up when Barry Brust faltered and has since accumulated a 13-4 record with a GAA of 2.11 and an SP of 0.939, with three shutouts. Interesting note: Lehner has made just 15 fewer saves so far in the playoffs than he made throughout the AHL regular season.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, though: The Houston Aeros aren't going to go down quietly. And the Hockey Gods are not going to look kindly on the good people of Binghamton planning the parade route before the party's even finished. So tonight's game will most certainly be an exciting and entertaining one.
