Stanley Cup Playoffs, day 35: Bruins look to respond

After a night without hockey on Monday, we're back at it on Tuesday as the Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins resume their Eastern Conference Final series. The Lightning won game one convincingly by a 5-2 score, and despite a pretty sick goal from Tyler Seguin (in his first NHL playoff game, no less), the Bruins didn't appear to have an answer to the Lightning's persistent offence. They'll have to find one tonight to avoid dropping two straight home games and heading out to Tampa down 2-0 in the series.

Key for Boston will likely be a bounce-back effort from Tim Thoms, who allowed four goals on 33 shots in game one. They'll also need to smarten up and stay out of the penalty box, because their frustration was clearly evident towards the end of Saturday's game.

More importantly for Senators fans tonight, though, will be game three of the AHL's Eastern Conference Finals between the Binghamton Senators and the Charlotte Checkers. After sweeping the first two games on the road, the B-Sens return to Bingo tonight looking to take a 3-0 stranglehold in the series. So far in the playoffs, the B-Sens haven't won a third game in any series, so they'll be looking to change that tonight.

Goaltender Robin Lehner is coming off a shutout and is back at it tonight. Playoff scoring leader Ryan Potulny has three goals so far in the series, and now has 13G and 9A in 15GP in the post-season. Linemate Ryan Keller has three assists and is close behind Potulny in the scoring lead, with 6G and 13A in 15GP.
