Silver Seven 25th Anniversary Logo Contest Winner

The votes are in, and the winner has been chosen!

A big thank you to everyone who submitted a design and who voted in the Silver Seven contest to choose a new 25th anniversary logo for the Ottawa Senators. More than 2000 people voted, and the winner with 44% of the vote on our site, and majority of the Facebook votes, was Jay Earle! This was the winning logo:

Not bad at all! Second- and third-place went to Eric Lapointe and Gully respectively. Congrats again to all our finalists.

Hockey news tends to get slow in the summer, so I'm very grateful for the engagement for this contest. Thank you to everyone who shared this contest on Twitter, on Facebook, or who promoted it in other ways. 2036 votes is no small feat, and we appreciate it. Also on Facebook, this contest had the most engagement on our page since the NHL Awards, where some guy named Erik Karlsson took home the Norris Trophy. Again, not bad at all!

The next step for us is to try to get someone in marketing to acknowledge the contest. No guarantees, but we'll do our best to avoid that monstrosity of a logo ending up on jerseys in the near future.

This was a lot of fun for us, and I hope it was for you too!
