Silver Nuggets: Top ten Senators draft picks; Fisher visits Ottawa

Greetings all. Not much going on in Sens land, as we are in that period after the draft/free agency/development camp but before training camp. We are still 68 days away from the preseason opener in Toronto and 86 days away from the regular season opener in Detroit.

Here are today's links:

  • Senshot looks at their top ten most impactful Senators draft picks. I don't agree with Marian Hossa being below Chris Kelly and Chris Neil though. The Hossa draft pick got us six seasons of Hossa, four seasons of Dany Heatley and two seasons of Milan Michalek. (Senshot)
  • Mike Fisher will be returning to Ottawa tonight as he is being recognised for his work with Roger's House. (Ottawa Sun)
  • Nick Foligno is getting married on Friday, and apparently, he is the cousin of Wade Redden's wife. (Ottawa Citizen)
  • Meanwhile, according to the people handling Mika Zibanejad's upcoming website, Mika won't be wearing #12 after all. There go the Mike Fisher comparisons! (Rumor Interactive)
  • This is not really Senators news, but it made me chuckle. Apparently Randall Denley, a Progressive Conservative Party candidate and former Ottawa Citizen columnist, compared his now leader Tim Hudak to Chris Neil. (Ottawa Citizen)
