Silver Nuggets: Senators/Rangers tonight; Landeskog is already a Senators fan

The Ottawa Senators won 3-1 last night over the Atlanta Thrashers in front of Mark Parisi, a handful of his friends and some of the players' family members. Craig Anderson played another solid game and allowed one goal or less for the fifth time in six starts. His stats since joining the Senators? 4-2-0, 1.16 goals against average and .966 save percentage.

Tonight the Senators take on the New York Rangers on national television on TSN. (Ce soir les Sénateurs d'Ottawa vont jouer contre les Rangers de New York en RDS). GO SENS GO! Allez les Sénateurs!

Excuse my French if it is wrong, I tried!

General Sens News

  • An incredible article on Gabriel Landeskog and his connections with Ottawa. He remembers the time seven years ago when he got to meet Daniel Alfredsson and Magnus Arvedson. Landeskog has already worn an Ottawa Senators jersey! (Citizen)
  • Erik Karlsson may be struggling, but he is trying to improve and he thinks he is a bit. Also, he still leads the team in points and assists. Meanwhile, Sergei Gonchar promises next season will be a lot better from him. Lastly, the 50-50 payoff in Atlanta last night was a whopping $256. (Sun)
  • Watch out Craig Anderson (or any other Sens goalie next season), Robin Lehner wants your job. He promises to "hunt" any goaltender that plays for Ottawa next season. Did I ever mention I love this kid? (Sens Extra)
  • Joy Lindsay has the full quotes from that Robin Lehner interview. (pressconnects.com)
  • More on Sergei Gonchar. He's been +5 since New Year's Day on a team that has been outscored 80-47. That's pretty good, yes? He has been one of our best defencemen defensively in 2011. Granted, that's not saying much though and he is being paid to put up the points. (Citizen)
  • Ian Mendes looks at Filip Kuba. He has been okay, even good, offensively before this year. If he recovers, he might just be worth keeping until next year's deadline especially with his trade value so low right now. (Sportsnet)
