Silver Nuggets: Rundblad season prediction; New Scoreboard possibly coming

Fear not, brave Sens fans, the Silver Nuggets have returned. I know, I know, you had to rough it yesterday afternoon. Mais, c'est la vie. In other news, the long weekend is almost here and I am going to Niagara Falls tomorrow. Le woo hoo!

Today's poll is about David Rundblad Magic Number Seven. How do you think he will fare this season? For simplicity of the poll, I am just asking about his point total, not his overall play. I think he will get a lot of power play time, possibly playing with the great Erik Karlsson himself. Or Sergei Gonchar. If either of those happen, he should get plenty of time and opportunities to try his moves without significant risk. I am predicting a point total in the high 30s range. Our team may struggle, but a power play unit of Jason Spezza, Nikita Filatov, Erik Karlsson, David Rundblad and one of Daniel Alfredsson or Bobby Butler should at least provide lots of exciting moves. Or a 4 on 4 overtime with Spezza, Filatov, Rundblad and Karlsson. Yes please!

Here are today's links:

  • A listing of one author's top 12 Swedish prospects for the upcoming season. David Rundblad is ranked #5 and his predicted output is 8 goals, 22 assists for 30 points with a -10 rating. Robin Lehner was mentioned as a notable. Gabriel Landeskog (remember him?) was ranked #2 and predicted to put up 25 goals and 55 points. That would be one hell of a season from him if it happens. (Hockey Independent)
  • Scotiabank Place is finally ready to move on from the 1990s and get a modern scoreboard. According to this, it will be there in time for this season. I guess we'll wait and see. (The 6th Sens)
  • Here are rumoured pictures of what the new scoreboard will look like. Nothing like showing Matt Carkner skating backwards to show it off boys! (Sens Town)
  • Matt Puempel and Mark Stone will be among the 46 players at Hockey Canada's development camp for the IIHF U20 World Championship later this year. (Ottawa Senators)
  • After the talk earlier this week of Jason Spezza and Daniel Alfredsson not being among the top 25 in their respective positions, here is an analysis of where Spezza and Alfredsson fit. I agree with Alfie no longer being in the top 25, but I actually still believe Spezza is a top 10 centre. However, I may be a little biased. (Senshot)
  • Here is a review of Brian Lee's season. He's given a C+ for his second half performance, an F for his first half lack of performances, for an overall grade of D+. (Senshot)
  • Alex Auld will wear #35, Erik Condra will wear #22 (Chris Kelly!) and Colin Greening will wear #14 (Chris Campoli!). (Ottawa Senators)
