Silver Nuggets: Picard in, Campoli out; Elliott starts

A few updates from the world of the Senators:

  • Alex Picard returns from injury, and Chris Campoli takes his spot in the press box. Clouston claims that Campoli's ineffectiveness on the powerplay is why he's being benched. (Sens Twitter)
  • Brian Elliott starts, again. Mike "Not Martin" Brodeur will have to wait his turn, again.
  • Yesterday was Daniel Alfredsson's 37th birthday. If you're buying him a gift, he needs dress socks. Blue ones. (Canadian Press)
  • Another article on Kovalev's struggles, but this one offers something different: a Tiger Woods reference. (London Free Press)
  • Jeremy Milks, however, feels that Kovalev will bust out of his slump soon, and prove his doubters wrong. (Black Aces)
  • Speaking of Kovalev, he'll be on TSN's Off The Record on Monday.
  • According to The Hockey News' Jason Kay, the Ottawa Senators are the fourth biggest letdown of the decade. Hey, at least they're finally making some year end lists, right? (THN)
  • Our friends at The 6th Sens did a podcast this week with Michael Sharp (Binghamton Sens blogger), and first round draft pick Jared Cowen. Our podcast, on the other hand, features Peter Raaymakers and Mark Parisi arguing. (The 6th Sens)
  • John Paddock has been nominated for the AHL Hall of Fame. (Raw Feed)
