Silver Nuggets: NHL returns to Winnipeg pending approval; Tim Murray interview

Well, today is a great day for hockey in Canada! There is expected to be a news conference at noon (which will already have happened by the time this is posted) in which True North Sports and Entertainment will announce they have acquired the Atlanta Thrashers and will move them to Winnipeg. This is technically pending an NHL Board of Governor approval, with 75% approval required for the sale of the team, and a simple majority for relocation.

Right now, time to start Make it Eight! In fact, if we can move Phoenix, Florida and...some other team from some where, we could have a Canada West and Canada East division. Okay, I am dreaming, but that would be awesome. :D

Also, while unintentional, this tweet from Bob McKenzie made me chuckle, note the singular on Thrasher:

Historic day few, if any, would have seen coming 15 years ago. Congrats Winnipeg fans. Condolences to Thrashers fan. WPG fans know your pain
