Silver Nuggets: Losing streak six away from the NHL record
The Ottawa Senators lost again. They do that a lot. Eleven in a row in fact.
The NHL record for most consecutive losses is seventeen, shared by the expansion 1974-1975 Washington Capitals and the second year San Jose Sharks in 1992-1993. The longest losing streak in Senators franchise history is fourteen from their expansion season. Where would the franchise record be broken you ask? If the Senators lose their next three games, they will get a chance to break the franchise record on Hockey Night in Canada at the friendly confines of the Air Canada Centre against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
With that history lesson, here are today's links.

General Sens News
- King Lehner is happy about the goaltender rotation, and is looking forward to silence those who say he is not ready. More efforts like the first period would help. (Sun)
- Jeremy Milks looks at trading Chris Phillips and Mike Fisher for
Toronto'sBoston's first round pick. The Senators would have to take back some salary as well. (Black Aces) - The Senators' management was very happy with Robin Lehner's play, despite the five goals. (Ian Mendes)
General Hockey News
- Plenty of trade talk here, with the Toronto/Anaheim trade acting as a possible catalyst. (Yahoo!)
- The names of Russian players shall be spelled differently on the jerseys! I would prefer to see it in Cyrillic (come on who doesn't want to see Александр Овечкин), but better pronunciation is a step up. (Yahoo!)
