Silver Nuggets: Fisher on Coaches, Lee's Reaction

Yet another edition of Ottawa Senators related stories from around the internet:

  • Mike Fisher talks about his poor 2008-09 campaign, and touches on how playing under Craig Hartsburg's system affected him: "By the time we got into their end we were changing, we were so tired. That felt like the first half of the season." Fish just got real. (Citizen)
  • Sure, the article is about Daniel Alfredsson, but the highlight is this: "The Senators have been rife with talent over Alfredsson’s term. Dominik Hasek. Zdeno Chara. Wade Redden in his prime. Marian Hossa. Martin Havlat. Jason Spezza. Dany Heatley." Isn't it great how they feel a need to point that out? (Slam)
  • Brian Lee is shocked that he didn't make the team this year. In other news, water is wet. (Slam)
  • Prospect Mike Hoffman has a hairline fracture in his left foot. (Telegraph Journal)
  • Clouston confirms that Peter Regin, Erik Karlsson, and Matt Carkner have made the team, after the media checked with him to make sure the whole Carkner thing wasn't a slip-up. (Citizen)
  • A really good article on the Senators' goaltending history and what Pascal Leclaire brings to the table. (Slam)
  • Jonathan Cheechoo realizes that to score goals, he's going to have to get to the net and grab rebounds. He hasn't explained yet how he's going to get to the net in time with his skating, though. (Kelowna)
  • Our buddies at Puck Daddy predict the Eastern Conference standings. Spoiler: nobody thinks the Ottawa Senators will make the playoffs. In retaliation, we predict Wyshynski loses in every one of his fantasy pools. (Puck Daddy)
  • SenSay has a good look at some Senators prospects. Jared Cowen already had a goal and an assist in his first game back to the Dub. (SenSay)
  • Update: Sportsnet has Alexandre Picard starting the season as a healthy scratch, while Carkner starts on the third D pairing with Chris Campoli. Still no official confirmation on it, though. (Sportsnet)
