Silver Nuggets: Elliott starts in net, Michalek out indefinitely

A quick collection of news stories for you today:

  • Brian Elliott starts in net tonight against the Flyers. This comes as no surprise after Elliott posted a shutout in yesterday's win against the Montreal Canadiens. (Sens Twitter)
  • No lineup changes for tonight's game, meaning Zack Smith stays in while Ryan Shannon and Shean Donovan stay out. It also means Filip Kuba remains out with that mysterious lower body injury. (Sens Twitter)
  • Milan Michalek will be out for a couple of weeks rehabbing his left knee, at which point the team will re-evaluate. Here's hoping that he's ready to play after those two weeks and that he won't require surgery. (Sens Twitter)
  • The prediction panel is feeling cocky after the Sens' victory over the Habs, and it's a unanimous vote for a Flyers loss in tonight's game. (Citizen)
  • You wouldn't know it from the amount of panic on hockey message boards, but Sports Club Stats has the Ottawa Senators' playoff chances at 95.4% after that big win last night. (Sports Club Stats)
  • Not Senators related but I know there are a lot of fans of Winnipeg band The Weakerthans who read this, so I figured I'd give a heads up that their new live album Live at the Burton Cummings Theatre can be streamed for free online this week. (Spinner)
