Silver Nuggets: Clouston hopes Volchenkov will return this weekend
Here's your collection of Senators-related headlines for today:
- Anton Volchenkov didn't skate with the team today, but coach Cory Clouston hopes he'll be able to play this weekend. Seems optimistic to me, but the team sure could use Volchenkov on the back end. (Twitter)
- The Toronto Sun thinks Pascal Leclaire will start in net tomorrow for the Sens, based on Leclaire saying "I'm feeling good and ready to go." I wonder if Jesse Winchester is going to start saying that now... (Sun)
- Ryan Kennedy tries to figure out what has happened to Jonathan Cheechoo, wondering if he's more of a Jimmy Carson or a Warren Young type disappointment. (THN)
- Apparently, a number of Sens fans didn't get the memo that Saturday's game was at 2:00pm, not the 7:00pm printed on season tickets. Hopefully the Sens P.R. team correct this mistake, as it's a shame that a few kids missed seeing their first NHL game (Citizen)
- Ben did a poll to see how Sens fans are thinking their team will do this season, and the majority feel they'll be fighting for a playoff spot. Love the optimism of the five who feel this team is a Stanley Cup contender. (Sens Army)
- An early review of the first quarter of the season done by SLC. Summary: Spezza is great, Kovalev should be benched, Cheechoo should be cut, and the bottom three defensemen are terrible. (Five for Smiting)
