Silver Nuggets: Binghamton looks to clinch Calder Cup; Senators interview prospects

The Binghamton Senators will look to clinch their first ever Calder Cup title tonight when they visit the Houston Aeros. Binghamton leads the series 3-2 and can finish out the series tonight. If they fail to do so, they will get one last chance tomorrow. As an added bonus, if the Baby Sens do prevail tonight, the Minnesota Wild blog on SB Nation will have to change their tagline to one of our choosing!

• The Senators hosted three potential draft prospects on Sunday and Monday, and will host two more today. Sean Couturier, Ryan Strome and Mika Zibanejad have already been interviewed and tested. Jonathan Huberdeau and Gabriel Landeskog will visit today. Senators player director Pierre Dorion thinks there is a 99% chance one of the five players interviewed will be available. Only if both Adam Larsson and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins have been passed over in the top five will the Senators have to draft someone they didn't interview. (Ottawa Citizen)
• Daniel Alfredsson is soon going to have to decide if he is going to have surgery on his back. If he opts for the surgery now, he should recover in time for training camp. (Ottawa Citizen)
• The Binghamton Senators will be without assistant coach Steve Stirling, who underwent an emergency quadruple heart bypass on Sunday. (Press & Sun-Bulletin)
• While Jared Cowen left game five after an apparent concussion, he might return for game six. (Ottawa Senators)
