Silver Nuggets: Anderson could be costly; Regin likely done

Greetings Silver Sevens, it is I, Adnan. You have gone four straight days without nuggets, but fear not they are back. It was a good long weekend, lots of SG1. Goa'uld are evil. Asgard are helpful. Thirty seven episodes watched in two weeks. Respect.

The Ottawa Senators are streaking, on a 2-1-1 roll and having either won or led in four straight games. Tomorrow night they attempt to win at home for the first time in fifty nine days. On the bright side, the Senators did win in Ontario for the first time in 2011, a road win in Toronto on Saturday.

With that strange introduction, here are today's (and the last few days) links:

General Sens News

  • Craig Anderson reportedly turned down a 2-year, $7.5 million contract offer from the Avalanche at the start of the season. Hopefully his bad season will lower his expectations. (Sens Extra)
  • Anderson is expected to get plenty of playing time, which means Robin Lehner will soon be reacquainted with megaphone wielding fans at road games. (Citizen)
  • Peter Regin is likely done for the season. (Silver Seven Sens via Bruce Garrioch)
  • Pascal Leclaire has gone from making 56 saves in an NHL playoff win to being the backup goaltender in a town of less than 50,000. All in less than a year. (Silver Seven Sens via Ottawa Senators)
  • Mark Stone was named WHL player of the week. (Silver Seven Sens via WHL)
  • Update: Stone named CHL player of the week as well. (Wheat Kings)
  • Kary Carkner will have to rub Matt's feet after he won the hardest shot competition in the Senators skills competition. (Sun)
  • Meanwhile, Mike Fisher defends Carrie Underwood's role in his trade to Nashville. (Sun)
  • Yet more information on the Senators four remaining trade candidates. Chris Phillips, Filip Kuba, Chris Neil and Alex Kovalev. (Sun)
  • Here is a very interesting interview that Sens Town did with James Duthie of TSN. It touches across a wide range of topics from Ottawa as a hockey town, to the rebuild, to his bad taste in music. I kid, I kid...okay not really. (Sens Town)

More after the jump.
