Silver Nuggets: All-Time Senators: Goalies

The skaters are done, and now we bravely take a look at our past. Ottawa has traditionally be referred to lovingly as a goaltender graveyard. The question is, who was the best?

Ron Tugnutt: The Tugger. Aside from being a solid goalie for the team in a time when the team was not yet elite, he was one of the nicest guys to ever play for the team. He played 4 seasons with the team, his best being a season with a 1.79 GAA and 0.925 save percentage (Record for best in a season). He was the goalie jumping when the Sens made the playoffs for the first time.

Ray Emery: Sure, he was a nut job. There was nothing but problems with Razor at the end of his time here, and his split from the team wasn't exactly amicable. However, he was the goalie on which we earned our berth into the Stanley Cup Finals, and he was phenomenal in those playoffs. He spent 5 years in the organization, 3 with the big club and had a season with 33 wins, but it was his playoff performance that puts him on this list.

Patrick Lalime: Patrick spent 5 years on the team and holds the records for most games played in a season, most wins in a season (39), most career wins (146) and most career playoff wins (21). He would be someone revered in Ottawa circles as easily the winner of this list, if not for his tough games against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the playoffs each year.

Craig Anderson: This may be another one of these "not yet" cases, but Craig Anderson has in my opinion done enough to be put on this list. He is already moving his way up the career wins list for the team, and in his short 18 game audition with the team in 2011 put up an insane 0.939 save percentage and last year in the playoffs he almost out-dueled Vezina Trophy winner Henrik Lundqvist. Going forth, he may top this list, but I'm curious to see how many votes he gets.
