Sens select Egor Sokolov 61st overall

With their third second rounder and sixth pick in the 2020 draft, the Ottawa Senators added Egor Sokolov to their ever growing prospect pipeline.

With the 61st selection of the 2020 NHL Draft, the Ottawa Senators added Egor Sokolov to the fold. Sokolov, 20, is an overage selection who most recently played with the Cape Breton Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The 6’4” right shot winger joins a group of towering prospects Ottawa has selected over the last 24 hours. Sokolov amassed 46 goals in 52 games serving as Cape Breton’s alternate captain this past season while compiling three goals and an assist in seven World Junior games on route to a silver medal with Russia.

Still residing in Atlantic Canada, Sokolov made headline news for being a really great person.

Please join us in welcoming Egor to the Senators organization!
