Sens agree to terms with Gryba, Sdao, Wideman and Schneider

Trio of defencemen and a forward signed

First up is Eric Gryba. He agreed to a two year, one way deal. $1.2m in the first year and $1.3m in the second makes for a $1.25m cap hit. That's more than double the worth of his last contract, which carried a $562,500 annual average. So much for him being the odd man out on a crowded blue line - the Senators officially now have 7 defencemen signed to one way deals next season.

Michael Sdao and Chris Wideman both signed two-way deals. Sdao signed for two years, and had 6 goals, 5 assists and a whopping 171 penalty minutes in 61 games last year for his first full season as a pro. Hockey's Future has him as a stay at home defenceman who acts as an enforcer.

Wideman signed for one year. He put up 9 goals and 42 assists for Bingo last year, a significant improvement over his 2012-13 numbers. Hockey's Future praises his intelligence and puck moving abilities, but list a lack of size and strength as a downside.

The salaries have yet to be revealed for Sdao and Wideman.

Update: Cole Schneider has also been signed to a one year, two way contract. Schneider had 20 goals and 34 assists in his second full year with Bingo. Hockey's Future considers him to be a power forward with good speed, puck vision and stick work, but someone who needs some work on the defensive side of his game. As with Sdao and Wideman, we don't know Schneider's salary yet.
