Senators Training Camp Down to 25 Players

The Ottawa Senators announced more cuts to their NHL roster today.

Eight players have been cut from Senators training camp.

Sent down to Binghamton: Max McCormick (F), Nick Paul (F), Chad Nehring (F) and Chris Driedger (G).

Put on waivers: Mike Blunden, Buddy Robinson (F) and Mike Kostka (D).

Released from PTO: Matt Bartkowski (D).

The Senators’ NHL roster is now down to 25 players; two goalies, eight defensemen and 15 forwards.

Among the forwards on the bubble, still trying to garner a spot on the team, are Matt Puempel, Phil Varone, Tom Pyatt and Ryan Dzingel. Among the defensemen on the bubble, still trying to grab a roster spot, are Thomas Chabot and Fredrik Claesson.

The Senators’ final preseason game is on Friday when they host the Buffalo Sabres at 7:30 p.m. ET.
