Senators sign defenseman Mike Lundin to one-year, $1.15M deal

The Senators have added some depth to their defense, announcing the addition of former Tampa Bay Lightning and Minnesota Wild defensman Mike Lundin.

Lundin stands 6'2" and weighs 191lbs, and fits the mold of more of mobile defenseman rather than a physical guy. He was drafted in the fourth round by the Tampa Bay Lightning and played four years for them before signing a one-year, $1M deal with Minnesota last season.

Constantly described as "steady," Lundin appears to be a depth move for the Senators. At first glance, he seems to be a replacement for the departed Brian Lee, or perhaps he's just insurance in case none of the team's young prospects are ready to step in to a full-time NHL role just yet.
