Senators sign Clarke MacArthur

CLARKE MACARTHUR FOR CAPTAIN!

In a day in which the Ottawa Senators lost Peter Regin, Andre Benoit, and some guy whose name I can't remember, they also added a piece in bottom-six forward Clarke MacArthur.

MacArthur, 28, will be at least the second Senator from Lloydminster, although unlike Wade Redden he comes form the Alberta side.

MacArthur's deal is worth $3.25M per year for two seasons. By all accounts he's was an excellent possession player despite playing for Toronto Maple Leafs who practically bleed possession.

He will likely fight over #16 with Mark Stone, or take #41 and replace the memory of Jonathan Cheechoo.

UPDATE: MacArthur will not take #41 to replace the memory of Jonathan Cheechoo, as Craig Anderson wears it currently and apparently even he can't erase Cheechoo memories.
