Senators Make More Cuts

The Ottawa Senators have assigned six players back to Binghamton, and two to their OHL teams.

Back to Binghamton are Cody Bass, Andy Chiodo, Ryan Keller, Geoff Kinrade, Jeremy Yablonski, and Ilya Zubov. Back to the OHL are Robin Lehner (to Sault St. Marie Greyhounds) and Brett Parnham (to Oshawa Generals).

Names that stand out on this list are Cody Bass, who seems to have been a favourite to make the team every year, and Ilya Zubov, who has put up good numbers in the AHL and showed some good anticipation in his preseason games.

Also, though Lehner got cut, it's not for a poor showing - it's simply that Ottawa is, for the first time in years, fully stocked in goal, both at the NHL and AHL level. Lehner had tremendous performances at both the rookie camp and the preseason, and it will be exciting to see how he performs in the OHL this season.
