Senators lose again in overtime, fall 3-2 to Sabres
Just because the owner and general manager have said the season is a write-off doesn't make these losses any better to watch. Especially the team plays a solid game, and in some ways outplays their opponents, only to fall in overtime--once again.
The Ottawa Senators tied things up late in regulation against the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night, but all that meant was that the game was destined for overtime, apparently the team's mortal enemy. Ottawa's now lost all eight games that have gone past 60 minutes, and this was their sixth straight loss and 12th loss in the last 13 games.
Few players stood out, positively or negatively, tonight, so I'll just mention some notable numbers.
Peter Regin only had 6:23 in TOI tonight, which is a little weird. Not sure what kept that so low, but it was the lowest in the game by a mile. ... The Sens dominated in the playoff circle, with Chris Kelly winning nine of 13 and Jesse Winchester winning nine of 14. ... Erik Karlsson had a game-high five shots on goal. ... Brian Lee led the team with four blocked shots tonight. Anton who?
