Senators lose again, fall 2-1 to Penguins

Just a quick recap here.

Ottawa lost, and that sucks, but there are some positive things to take away:

  • Erik Karlsson had an assist in his first game back since his benching.
  • Pascal Leclaire made 38 saves with a save percent of .950, and the team only lost because Marc-Andre Fluery posted an even better 43 saves with a save percent of .977.
  • Ottawa's 44 shots represented a team high for the year.
  • The team had 21 shots in the first period alone. This one period represents a higher total than either of their totals for the last two games.

The Sens have now lost five of their last six games, but it looks like there are plenty of reasons to have hope for the future coming out of this one.
