Logan Brown, Drake Batherson and Rudolfs Balcers are the names the stand out most from this list.
With the long term injury to Jean Gabriel Pageau, many (myself included) believed Brown would have every opportunity under the sun to make the opening night roster for Ottawa. As for Batherson and Balcers, both have shown the skill and hockey IQ it will take to play games for the NHL club, it just appears they have a few people to pass on the depth chart before that can happen.
The forwards to watch who remain at camp include speedster Alex Formenton and Belleville’s leading scorer Filip Chlapik. Neither have looked out of place in their preseason ice time. On the back end, Ben Harpur, Max Lajoie and Christian Jaros look to be battling for spots at the bottom of the blueline chart.
There are 30 players remaining in Ottawa.
Belleville Training Camp
The players assigned to Belleville will report to newly named CAA Arena this afternoon before hitting the ice for the first time on Monday morning. For those of you who may be in the area, camp will be open to the public this year.
