Senators Add Viktor Stalberg
Ottawa shipping their 2017 3rd to Carolina
The Ottawa Senators have traded their third round pick for this year’s draft to the Carolina Hurricanes in return for Viktor Stalberg.
Stalberg has nine goals and three assists for Carolina this season, including one goal against Ottawa last week. He’s largely been played on the fourth line in Raleigh, so will be providing more depth for the Sens.
Following the playoff experience angle, he brings 43 playoff games worth of experience, and a cup ring from his time in Chicago. The Senators will be the fifth team in his NHL career.
Barring more moves, this leaves the Sens amateur scouting staff without a whole lot to do come June - he team only has their first, fourth and sixth round picks remaining.
