Ottawa Senators select Ryan Dzingel 204th overall

The Senators have won the Alex Kovalev trade by selecting a warm body with their last pick in the draft.

That warm body is center Ryan Dzingel of the Lincoln Stars of USHL. Dzingel, pronounced "Duh-zingle", led the Stars with 67P (23G, 44A) in 54 games. Standing 6' tall and weighing 185lbs, he's a player who has a decent, but not outstanding NHL frame. Most interestingly, his plus/minus rating jumped from minus-18 in 2009-10 to plus-19 this season. This change is probably a big reason why he was selected this year after going undrafted last year despite being eligible. Dzingel will play hockey at Ohio State University next year.

You can read an interview with him here.

Considering the Senators selected players with last names like Zibanejad, Noesen, and Pumpel, it's no surprise they couldn't resist a "Dzingel."
