Game 44: Binghamton 3, Albany 0 (Jan. 19, 2011, Times Union Center)
Doesn't matter what level the Devils play, they still can't win games, and Binghamton had little trouble holding down the sixth-place Albany Devils. Binghamton was able to score two early goals (one on the powerplay), and the rest was cake. Ladies and gentlemen, the Binghamton Senators are playing like a contender and as of right now, hold a playoff spot (thanks to the division crossover rule, where if the number five seed in one division holds more points than the number four in the other division, they take their spot).

BSens Hero: Barry Brust
Made 26 saves, and has his fifth shutout of the season, which is tied for first in the AHL. He looked fantastic on the ice, and while Albany only had double digit shots in one period (10 shots on goal in the first), he still was the best goaltender on the ice. Oh, and both wins against Albany this season for Binghamton have been Brust shutouts.

BSens Hero: Erik Condra
Is the trade deadline here yet? Because I don't think Erik Condra wants to be in the AHL anymore. Condra had two assists tonight, and looked fantastic on the powerplay.

BSens Hero: Roman Wick
Wick scored the opening, or the game-winning-goal if you're feeling dramatic, and looked great on the ice. He had many great scoring chances, and has started to play physical in both ends. This was his finest game I'd seen in a while.

BSens Hero: Kurt Kleinendorst
I just wanted to take a moment to reflect how great of a job Kurt Kleinendorst has done. He's had exceptions in his first season with Binghamton, and while he started off slow, he has taken this team turned them from a middle of the pack team, to Calder Cup contender. Bravo Kurt Kleinendorst, keep up the fantastic work.

Game 45: Norfolk 3, Binghamton 2 (OT) (Jan. 21, 2011 Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena)
Nail biter in Binghamton, the Senators took a 2-1 lead and held it into the third until Matt Fornataro scored on the power play to tie it. Both teams play tight defense in the third (both allowed five shots) and the game went into overtime where Norfolk scored three shootout goals in row to win it.

BSens Hero: Kaspars Daugavins
His stick has been coming alive and hes doing all the right things on the ice. Only one point in this game (a goal in the second period), but he's starting to play like the player he's been expected to be.

BSens Hero: Jim O'Brien
Binghamton's other goal scorer, opened the game up. He also led Binghamton in shots on goal with six, and is continuing to play great hockey.

Robin Lehner Watch
He made 21 saves, and looked pretty good...until the shootout. While Binghamton was able to score two shootout goals to support him, Lehner got lit up, saving only one shootout goal out of four.

Game 46: Binghamton 4, Manchester 2 (Jan. 22, 2011 Verizon Wireless Arena)
If there's any game that says Binghamton is a playoff team, this was that game. Binghamton was outshot 40 to 17, and still won the game by two goals. The first period ended with a 2-2 tie (Binghamton had 4 shots on goal), and the second was a penalty frenzy. A total of eight penalties were called in the second, three of them on Binghamton. Binghamton's powerplay would go two-for-six on the night, the goals coming in the second and third.

BSens Hero: Barry Brust
Brust had 38 saves, and played perfect hockey in the final 40 minutes. He  also had 2 PIMs for interference. I love this guy.

BSens Hero: Roman Wick
Wick got his first pro hat trick today, he scored both Binghamton goals in the first, and got the game-winning goal in the second on the powerplay.

Crowded Penalty Box
A total of 17 penalties were called for a total of 46 minutes! And Francis Lessard wasn't even playing.

Big News
Binghamton has picked up at least a point in their last four games and are winners of eight of their last 12 games! Here they come!

Elmira Jackals (19-16-5, 43 Pts)

Game 39: Toledo 4, Elmira 3 (Jan. 21, 2011, Huntington Center)
Toledo took a quick 2-0 lead in the first, but Elmira fought back into the third to tie the game up at three. Toledo was able to get the game-winning-goal in the third.

Game 40: Toledo 8, Elmira 7 (Jan. 22, 2011, Huntington Center)
Elmira held a 5-0 lead midway into the first period of the contest. The first would end 6-1, but Toledo would fight back to score four goals in the second to make the game 7-5. Adding on the two in the second, Toledo would net five unanswered goals to end the game.

Game 41: Kalamazoo 6, Elmira 3 (Jan. 23, 2011 Wings Stadium)
Kalamazoo got on the board early with two goals in the first two periods.  Elmira was able to fight back with three straight goals in the second, but Kalamazoo would take the third period and the game.

CHL

Mark Stone is the Brandon Wheat Kings leading scorer and is eighth in the WHL. He's also first in Wheat Kings power play goals with 13 and tied for third in the WHL. Jared Cowen is second in Spokane Chiefs scoring for defensemen, sixth overall. He's also second in team plus-minus.

Sweden

Markus Sorensen leads Djurgårdens J20 in scoring. David Rundblad ranks first in Skellefteå scoring for defensemen, third overall. Jakob Silfverberg is fifth in Brynäs IF scoring, and is tied for second in Brynäs IF goals.

College

Derek Grant is second in Michigan State scoring, and leads in Michigan State assists. Chris Wideman is first in Miami defensemen in scoring, sixth overall. Michael Sdao leads Princeton in PIMs.
