Game 10: Bulldogs cruise past Senators with pair of empty net goals

Friday's game seemed a lot like Robin Lehner's first start this season against Hershey. Coming back from Ottawa, not playing a full game in a week, and going up against a far superior team. However, unlike his first game, Lehner shined.

Binghamton started off the game with only one shot in the first, tying a record for fewest shots in a period (last time was on March 10, 2006 in the first period at Manchester, a 3-2 Binghamton overtime loss). Binghamton was able to tie the game with goals from Jim O'Brien and Andre Benoit (his first goal with Binghamton, against his former team), but the game-winning goal from Ryan Weber, along with empty netters from Andreas Engqvist and David Desharnais, sealed Binghamton's fate.

BSens Hero: Robin Lehner
Ottawa's goaltending messiah shined in his best performance in the AHL. Allowing only three goals off 37 shots (.919 Sv%), Lehner continues the streak of solid goaltending for Binghamton. After allowing seven goals off 35 shots in his last game, this is what we, the fans, and the organization needed to see tonight.

The team leader in assist, recorded his first goal as a Binghamton Senator against his former team, tying the game with just a single second left on Binghamton's first powerplay of the game.

BSens Zero: First Period
Getting only one shot on goal isn't the way to start a game. Much like the last game in Charlotte, Binghamton has been beaten in the shot total in the first period, shutout, and trailing.

BSens Hero: The Penalty Kill
Hamilton went 0-4 on the powerplay, making them 1-13 in their last three games.

Game 11: Binghamton spoils Hamels return, down Phantoms 7-3

On Saturday night, just about everything went right for Binghamton. The fans got to see the return of former captain Denis Hamel, Binghamton was able to score first and take the lead in shots in the first, and Roman Wick finally got a point. Truly a win-win-win for everyone... well, except Adirondack.

Binghamton got on the board early, and added on to the lead with 4 goals in the second. Denis Hamel scored two goals, to wondrous applause, and almost get a hat trick in third with under a minute to go, but the game as all Binghamton. Things got a tense in the third, as Adirondack, last in the division, wasn't happy about being blownout. The end result would be four fighting majors (two for each team) and eight penalty minutes that were called on Binghamton.

BSens Hero: Corey Locke
A three-point night for Binghamton's top scorer. Locke scored the game's second goal and set up Ryan Keller, Bobby Butler, and Colin Greening to pull ahead of Andre Benoit for the team lead in assists. Fantastic night for Locke.

BSens Hero: Bobby Butler
One goal, two assists, a plus-three. Bobby Butler added gravy to Binghamton's lead in the third, tying the lead with Ryan Keller for most goals on the team. What a bust!

BSens Hero: Colin Greening
Colin Greening has found his stride as a left winger. He scored the opening goal in the first, and got an assist on goals by Locke and Butler. Binghamton's most productive line right now is the Greening-Locke-Butler line, which scored a total of nine points (3 goals, 6 assists) tonight.

BSens Hero: Ryan Keller
I hope Keller isn't the jealous type. On a night where his predecessor was being honored in his return home by fans, Keller scored twice and tied the team in goals. The coaching staff made the right choice in picking Keller as the captain.

Credit where credit is due: Roman Wick
Roman Wick scored his first point in North America, an assist on Craig Schira's goal. (You guys sure Schira is a defensemen?)

Game 12: Binghamton makes it two in a row with win over Syracuse
For the second game in a row, the Binghamton Senators had the most shots in the first, and for the second game in a row, offensively dominated their opponent. This game wasn't even close, it was all Binghamton Senators. Bobby Butler and Jim O'Brien were the only goal scorers for Binghamton, Robin Lehner was able to get his first shutout in the pros, Roman Wick--the man who went into the weekend series with 0 points--had two assists on Sunday, and the line of Greening-Locke-Butler scored seven points. Let's hope the offense continues against the Rochester Americans on Wednesday.

BSens Hero: Bobby Butler
Butler has been fantastic this weekend, scoring four goals in the three-game weekend series, and a hat trick tonight. He now leads the team with 9 goals, which is tied for second in the AHL (Luke Adam leads with 10). Such a bust!

BSens Hero: Jim O'Brien
Conan's not the only O'Brien that's back! Jim O'Brien scored a pair of goals in the first after Butler put up his first two. Making his weekend total three.

BSens Hero: Robin Lehner
The future got his first pro shutout in a game while his roommate, Bobby Butler, gets his first pro hat trick. Lehner stopped all 33 shots, and made it look easy.

BSens Hero: Penalty Kill
Just like yesterday, the opponents didn't like being blown out and things got heated. Ten penalties were called in the second period, six for Syracuse. But PK squad again, was perfect, killing off all four penalties.
