Game 37: Condra's pair of goals lift Binghamton past Crunch

Coming into this game, Binghamton had a four point lead over Syracuse, the same Syracuse that had won their last three games but hadn't scored against Binghamton in over 200 minutes. Clearly this was a different team. But the game started off the same, Binghamton got a 3-0 lead into the first and looked to have control of this game (Francis Lessard even scored a goal!). But in the second, Syracuse scored it first goal on Binghamton to end the shutout streak at 251 minutes and 30 seconds--it was the first time the Crunch scored on Binghamton since October 16. That goal was able to rally the Crunch to score another goal, which cut the lead to one. Binghamton answered with a controversial goal, where Colin Greening appeared to shoot the puck wide off a rebound--but the goal light went on. It didn't look like it went in to the net, but after a review the officials called it a goal. One minute into the third, the Crunch narrowed the lead to one off a deflection, but Erik Condra would answer back with two third period goals, to win the game 6-4.

Condra came though big tonight, scoring the game winning goal and adding an insurance goal, both in the third. The two-goal night has him second on the team in both goals and points.

Greening is quietly putting together a great season. The rookie had three points tonight (1G, 2A) and worked on the boards to get the puck to his teammates. Little known fact: He and Roman Wick are John Muckler picks.

BSens Hero: Corey Locke
Locke scored three points tonight (1G, 2A) to add to the AHL lead. He has 49 points in just 35 games in Binghamton, and looks to be the best playmaker to don a Binghamton Senators uniform since Jason Spezza.

Game 38: Binghamton drop Americans 2-1

This game a huge goalie showdown, with Mike Brodeur--making his first home start since the season opener where he suffered a concussion--and Jacob Markstrom--the top goalie prospect in the world. And these two didn't disappoint. Both faced 36 shots, but both stood atop their heads to give the fans a show. Coach favorite David Dziurzynski was bumped up to the second line, and he wasted no time, scoring the game's first goal--and his first pro goal--26 seconds into the game.The Americans answered back on the powerplay, with a goal from Chris Taylor. That would be the only goal Brodeur allowed. Dziurzynski got his second point of the night, by passing the puck to Erik Condra, who scored his third goal in two games. Both goalies wouldn't allowed another goal in the third, and the Binghamton Senators won the game 2-1, while wearing vintage, original Ottawa Senators jerseys.

BSens Hero: Mike Brodeur
Made 35 saves, and looked fantastic doing it. But he looked most impressive in the final minute of the game. The Americans came in with the extra attacker, and kept firing shots. And Brodeur stood on his head to stop them all. Here's the video.

Third goal in two nights, second game winning goal in two games. Erik Condra is playing like a player that wants to be called up.

Had two points tonight, including a goal just 26 seconds into the game. The coaching staff loves him, and with his performance tonight, he's going to get a lot more ice time.

Game 39: Binghamton beats Bruins 5-3

The Binghamton Senators may have turned a corner, for the better. With the win today, they have earned six of six possible points and are right at the necks of the Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears. But enough of that, let's talk about this game. Remember David Dziurzynski, from last night? Well it turns out last night was not a fluke. David Dziurzynski scored two goals, and would had his first hat trick of his pro career if he didn't hit the post on the empty net. The game started off with a pair of powerplay goals, from Corey Locke and the Bruins Jordan Caron. David Dziurzynski and Ryan Keller would answer back, to make a 3-1 game. Until Jordan Caron scored again on the powerplay. Dziurzynski would score his 2nd of the night, and Colby Cohen would score the Bruins final goal in the second. Andre Benoit would add the leverage goal on the powerplay, and Binghamton would win it 5-3.

Another two-point night from him, and just an inch away from his first hat trick. Both off his goals were assisted by Erik Condra and Jim O'Brien, so don't expect him to be moved anytime soon.

Lehner Watch: Played the full 60 minutes, stopped 26 shots, and allowed 3 goals. Not as good as his last two games in Binghamton, but not a bad effort.

Game 40: B-Sens win fourth in a row with 5-2 victory over Portland

Binghamton got on the board early with goals from Mike Hoffman and Ryan Keller, but as the first period started to come to an end, Portland tied the game up. However, 19 seconds into the second, AHL All-Star Corey Locke scored his 14th goal of the season, and didn't stop there. Locke would add on to his AHL leading point total with a powerplay assist on Andre Benoit's goal late in the third, and get the empty net to win Binghamton's fourth game in a row, 5-2.

Apparently someone doesn't like being in Binghamton. Locke had a hand in all but one goal tonight (2G, 2A) and was fire on the ice tonight. He's now got 55 points in the AHL, ten more than second-place David Desharnais.

BSens Hero: Robin Lehner
Robin Lehner has won four straight games, and has looked terrific in them. Facing 27 shots, Lehner only allowed two goals, and both of them were in the first.

ECHL

Game 31: Reagan, Jackals power past Kalamazoo

The Jackals took the game early with goals from Tyler Donati, Eric Regan (he had two of them), and A.J. Perry. The Jackals ended the first with a 3-0 lead. Kevin DeVergilio started the second with another Jackals goal to make it a 4-0 drought. Justin Taylor was able to answer back for the Kalamazoo Wings to end the second, 4-1. In the third, Eric Regan was able to score his 2nd goal, but the Wings were able to answer back with two powerplay goals from Brady Leisenring, but Kevin DeVergilio scored the empty netter to end the game 6-3.

Game 32: Jackals fall to Wings, 5-2

A rematch of yesterday's game, but didn't have the same outcome. The Jackals scored their only goals early from R.J. Anderson and Dustin Cameron. But the Kalamazoo Wings would score five-straight goals to beat Elmira, the first coming from Justin Taylor to end the first, 2-1. Bryan Jurynec tied the game at 2, and Kory Karlander scored Kalamazoo game winning goal. The final two goals Trent Daavettila and Ryan McGinnis.

Game 33: Jackals blanked by Royals, 2-0

Elmira got shut out for the first time at home against rival Reading. The first goal came in the second period from Royals Tyler Murovic off a deflection from outside the crease, and in the third, Alain Goulet would end the game with a wrister. It was the first time Elmira was shut out at home in two years.
