Game 29: Binghamton blanks Syracuse, again

For the third straight time, the Binghamton Senators shutout the Syracuse Crunch, this time in a 7-0 rout. Sixteen different Binghamton Senators got points tonight, all seven goals were scored by different skaters, and Robin Lehner got his second win this season (guess what his first was) and second shutout. Currently, the Binghamton Senators have a 225:33 shutout streak against the Crunch. Which is still 64 minutes less than Francis Lessard's PIM total last year.

Lehner was perfect; granted, he only had work hard in the first. Lehner faced 16 shots in the first, the most he's ever had in any first period in his pro career. After the first, he only had nine shots against. But a shutout is a shutout.

BSens Hero: Powerplay
The powerplay went 3-for-4 tonight. The B-Sens capitalized on the first three man-advantage opportunities to really get the Crunch out of the game.

Game 30: Checkers cruse past Senators

It was Festivus Night in Binghamton, and the first goal of the game was controversial. Jared Staal, the younger brother of Eric, Marc, and Jordan, shot a wrister which appeared to hit the post. The goal light went off, the officials didn't stop the play, and the game went on. A few minutes later it was reviewed (the AHL doesn't have video replay, so the goal judge makes the call) and it was called a goal. It was be Jared Staal's first pro goal. In the second, Colin Greening would tie the game off a rebound from Roman Wick, who was on the breakaway. Greening would be the only goal scorer for Binghamton, as he scored again in the third off another rebound from mildly heating up, Kaspars Daugavins. Jon Matsumoto would score the final goals for Charlotte in their 4-2 win.

Yeah, he allowed four goals, but he also had 36 saves. Oh, and he also did this. Chris Terry was coming off on the breakaway, and Barry Brust came out to challenge, and well, just watch the video.

BSens Hero: Colin Greening
Remember him? He was the player that wasn't Corey Locke or Bobby Butler on the first line before Butler was called up. Well appearently he score by himself too, as he scored the only goals for Binghamton tonight.

Game 31: Senators kick off Christmas week with win over Americans

For the first time all season, Robin Lehner played two full games in a three game weekend series. And what a game this was. Binghamton would score their only goals in the first twenty minutes, including a goal from David Hale. Robin Lehner played 39:06 minutes of shutout hockey, until Scott Timmins scored. Rochester would cut the lead to one early in the third, but Binghamton would hold on to win 3-2.

Thirty-one saves, almost 40 minutes of shutout hockey, and he's going to the World Juniors. Not a bad day for Robin Lehner, who looked like he was definitely getting ready for tending Sweden's net in Buffalo. Which is a good thing for him and the Senators, although maybe not for Team Canada (or Team USA).

BSens Heroes: Kaspars Daugavins
Only one point for him, but Daugavins has really stepped his game up. Daugavins has four points during this three game weekend series, and has started to play like the player Ottawa had hoped he'd develop into. Maybe there's still time.

Game 26: Ginand, Devils grab 4-2 win over Jackals

Anther tough loss for the Jackals. Yannick Tifu got Elmira on the board in the first with a short-handed goal, Elmira's fifth short-handed of the season, fourth against the Devils. Ryan Ginand would answer back late in the second period, the first of his three hat trick goals. 20 seconds into the third, Ryan Hayes gave the Devils the lead. And Ryan Ginand would add two more to make it a 4-1 game. Elmira would answer back with a goal from Eric Lampe, but the Jackals would lose, 4-2.

Game 27: Brodeur perfect in 200th game as Jackals blank Walleye, 5-0

In front of a sellout crowd of 3,837, Mike Brodeur would play his 200th game in the ECHL, with a shutout no-less. Brock McBride scored the first goal with only 24 seconds left in the first, which extended his point streak to eight games. Kevin DeVergilio would score on the powerplay, just 41 seconds into the second. Justin Donati notched the next two goals, and A.J. Perry would score the final goal to get the Jackals their  first win in two weeks and Mike Brodeur would make 30 saves to get Elmira their first shutout this season.

Mark Stone leads the Brandon Wheat Kings in points and is tied for tenth in the WHL. Jared Cowen is second among Chiefs defensemen in scoring, sixth overall, and leads the team in plus/minus. He will be an alternaite captain for team Canada in the World Juniors. Jakub Culek is tied for 11th in points for the Rimouski Oceanic.

Sweden

David Rundblad leads Skelleftea defensemen in points and is third overall. Jakob Silfverberg is tied for fifth in points for Brynas. Emil Sandin has been demoted to Brynäs in J20 SuperElit league.

College

Louie Caporusso is second in Michigan scoring. Derek Grant is third in scoring on Michigan State. Chris Wideman leads Miami defensemen in points and is sixth on the team in points. Bryce Aneloski is second in Nebraska-Omaha defensemen scoring. Michael Sdao leads in PIMs.
