Aide to minister Melanie Joly says full-stadium NHL game “was not deemed feasible and is no longer one of the options being considered"— Don Butler (@ButlerDon) November 4, 2016
This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise - the number of logistical hurdles involved was very large. Hosting a game there was always a long shot, and the process of trying to make it happen seemed to go further than many had expected it would when the idea was first floated last year.
Now we get to find out what “Plan B” is after all. While the Hill would have been the ultimate backdrop, TD Place is showcase worthy itself - if the team is willing to look into it.
