Monday LNN: Bruins Controversy, Silovs Show, Changes in Toronto?

Starting your week off right with some links, news, and notes:

• On Sunday, the Florida Panthers took a stranglehold 3-1 series lead over the Boston Bruins after their 3-2 win on Sunday, while the Vancouver Canucks triumphantly defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 to go up 2-1 in their series. The Oilers/Canucks games have been incredible so far and are must-watch hockey.
• The Carolina Hurricanes stayed alive on Saturday with a 4-3 win as the New York Rangers are still up 3-1 in the series, while the Dallas Stars won their second in a row to take a 2-1 lead over the Colorado Avalanche.
• Brad Marchand missed Game 4 on Sunday after a sucker punch from Sam Bennett. This angle wasn't shown until last night, but it was pretty clearly a dirty play from Bennett that went unpenalized.
• The Bruins were even more annoyed due to the Panthers game-winning goal last night being controversial after Bennett was involved yet again. He cross-checked Charlie Coyle into Jeremy Swayman right before putting the puck home, and let's just say the fans and team were not happy.
• Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic goes through what the Bruins were thinking during that review and how baffled they were with the call.
• Before Game 3 on Sunday, Ryan S. Clark detailed how Canucks goalie Artus Silovs has stolen the show in Vancouver. That was before a career-high 42 saves last night.
• Rachel Doerrie of ESPN has an NHL mock draft for the first round, with the Senators taking LD Sam Dickinson and LW Andrew Basha.
• Ian Mendes recently sat down with Sens owner MichAsk Andlauer. There’s lots of great info in here, but I particularly liked his approval of Ridly Greig’s empty net slapper.
• This could be a very interesting summer for the Toronto Maple Leafs, as Brendan Shanahan has even admitted that big changes could be coming as he feels the heat for his job security. Luke Fox of Sportsnet talks about the shortcomings of the team and what that might mean for the near future.
• Former Toronto Maple Leaf Ron Ellis has passed away at the age of 79. Ellis was a member of the last Maple Leafs team to win the Stanley Cup in 1967, and he had 640 points in 1034 games played. Rest in Peace to Ron.
• Connor Bedard had three points against Denmark in the World Hockey Championships, as Canada won 5-1. Canada moves to 2-0 in the tournament after winning their first game 4-2 over Great Britain.
