Matt Puempel returned to Binghamton

So much for getting a game

The timing seems a little odd in isolation given the official roster deadline was last night, but the Ottawa Senators returned Matt Puempel to the Binghamton Senators this afternoon.

The move isn't a complete surprised apart from the timing, though having survived the final camp cuts it was expected he would at least get a game before being sent back to the AHL. Was it due to MacArthur being questionable? Maybe always planning to have him back in Bingo for their season opener on Saturday, and were waiting to decide on tomorrow's opening lineup?

Whatever the reason, he's back to riding the bus for now - but I'm sure we'll see him back up at some point this season.
