Jason Spezza requests trade

Also: Water is wet, fire is hot

Friedman is only one of the multiple sources reporting that Jason Spezza has requested a trade. It's also being reported that several teams are interested and have made calls, but nothing is close yet. Murray has been quoted as saying that the hope is to "send him somewhere we don't have to play him every night", which doesn't quite rule out an in-division trade but does make one less likely.

We all pretty much knew this was coming one way or another, folks, and it certainly explains the recent rumours that he was being removed from any marketing plans for next season.

So who are the teams that are interested? What kind of return could we expect? Is this admission going to hurt the potential return we can get, similar to the Heatley situation?
