Heritage Classic Day

A media roundup ahead of this afternoon's Heritage Classic

The 2014 Heritage Classic goes this afternoon with the Ottawa Senators visiting the Vancouver Canucks at BC Place. Billed as a rematch of the 1915 Stanley Cup Final, it's the sixth and final outdoor game of the season in the NHL. Of course, it's not really a rematch and it's not really outside, and there's a sense of audience fatigue about outdoor games around the league.

Still, enjoy the game! The game marks Ottawa's first chance at playing in an outdoor spectacle in front of a stadium-sized crowd. It also provided the opportunity for the team to unveil some new jerseys, which have been positively received. Finally, it's a chance for Ottawa to be in the spotlight - that doesn't happen very often.
