Game 68: Ottawa Senators @ Tampa Bay Lightning
It's a very important game tonight for the Ottawa Senators. While they still have a comfortable lead for the last playoff spot, a loss tonight would extend the losing streak to three games with a matchup against the league leading New York Rangers coming up on THursday.
A few changes tonight, Ben Bishop will make his first start for Ottawa and Zenon Konopka and Bobby Butler will join Matt Carkner as healthy scratches. Kaspars Daugavins and Zack Smith will return. Here are the lines from Ian Mendes.
More after the jump.
Here are some things to look for tonight:
- First look at Ben Bishop: How will the big man look against a Lightning team that features the game's leading goal scorer.
- Rebound from Spezza and Karlsson: Neither player had a good game, and as mentioned before, the Senators have won only one game out of 12 (1-8-3) when both players fail to get a point. It is pivotal that they return to form tonight, because this team isn't generally good enough to win without them.
- Colin Greening back on top line: Greening might have only one point in 14 games but he has some how found himself on the top line for tonight's game. Will he regain his form from earlier in the season?
- Playing with the lead: The Senators have led at some point in 11 straight games. Unfortunately, they have let them slip in the last two games among others. Can they do a better job of stayed ahead?
