Game 62: Ottawa Senators vs. Washington Capitals
Tonight, the Senators take on the Capitals, but there could be one notable exception from the Washington lineup: Alexander Ovechkin left practice early on Wednesday afternoon, and is a game-time decision for the game this evening due to a "lower-body injury." Most signs seem to indicate it's highly unlikely he'll play, although there is still a chance Great Eight will suit up. Time will tell.
With or without Ovechkin, it's a huge game for the Capitals, who are just two points back of the Southeast Division-leading Florida Panthers, and two points out of a playoff spot. It's hardly less important for the Sens, though, as they continue holding back rivals for the last few playoff spots in the Eastern Conference.
Speaking of the Panthers, tonight will be a battle of former Florida starters with Craig Anderson facing off against Tomas Vokoun. In his career versus the Sens, Vokoun is 5-11 with a 3.19 GAA and a .903 save percentage. Anderson has a 4-5-1 record all-time against the Caps.
The Sens lineup is unchanged for the evening, so Matt Carkner and Zenon Konopka remain healthy scratches. The lines look like this:
And that's that. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
