Game 38: Carolina Hurricanes @ Ottawa Senators
The Senators are riding a two-game winning streak, and have picked up points in six of their last seven games. For this year's Ottawa Senators, that counts as being on fire, I think. The Hurricanes are on the back-end of a back-to-back, having beaten the
Toronto Maple Leafs4-3 last night.
The Senators will be playing without top line centre Jason Spezza, so it'll be interesting to see who (if anyone) steps up for the Senators tonight.
Who will I be watching?
- Erik Karlsson - When this kid joined the Senators last year, did you think the undersized Swedish dynamo would already be leading his team in points? I sure didn't, but he's been a pleasure to watch in the offensive zone.
- Brian Elliott - his 44 save performance against the Penguins was the biggest reason the Senators won, and one has to hope that Elliott is hitting one of his grooves again.
- Zack Smith - Z. Smith is the only addition to the lineup after the loss of Spezza, and it will be interesting to see how this pans out. Hopefully Z. Smith shows the intensity he had last year in the playoffs, rather than his questionable play from earlier in the season.
- Cam Ward - He's pretty good.
- Eric Staal - He's pretty good.
- Jeff Skinner - this 2010 first rounder has had a great season thus far -- hopefully the Senators can keep him off the score sheet tonight.
