The Bruins were busy earlier today, acquiring Jaromir Jagr for some spare parts and a second-rounder, but Jagr will not make his debut tonight against the Sens. It's also doubtful that Kaspars Daugavins will play tonight, although Ian Mendes seems to think his immigration/work visa issues are finally ironed out.
There's just one lineup change for the Senators, according to reports: Robin Lehner will get the start. Both Peter Regin and Mike Lundin remain healthy scratches, so Matt Kassian and Andre Benoit are in the lineup. Your full lines, according to Mendes:
I'm not going to guess at Boston's lines, but Stanley Cup of Chowder may have info on them. Some storylines for the game:
- Benoit Watch: Andre Benoit has struggled mightily against bigger, physical teams, yet he's back in the lineup tonight against Boston--but just barely, as he took a Jared Cowen slapshot off the foot that nearly knocked him onto the injury list. He's going to have to step up his game tonight, though.
- Line 199 Broken Up: Jakob Silfverberg has been swapped for Daniel Alfredsson, overloading one line with a lot of speed and youth in the form of Silfverberg, Mike Hoffman, and Kyle Turris. Meanwhile, Alfie will skate alongside Mika Zibanejad and Guillaume Latendresse, which is an interesting mix that puts a lot of pressure on Zibanejad as the fastest skater and first-man-in. We'll see how the lines work.
- Lehner's Revenge: Robi-Wan Lehnobi is back in nets for Ottawa after Ben Bishop played in three straight. If anything happens on the Bishop front tomorrow before the deadline, Lehner's going to get starts with more regularity.
- Hoffman Power Hour: Mikey's ice time went from 14 minutes against the Rangers to 12 minutes against the Bruins, and his only two shots this season came in that first game. It seems like throwing the kid directly onto the first line might be asking a bit much of him... perhaps easing him in (and bumping Colin Greening up) would be a wise choice.
And that's your game preview! Sorry it's so late, I needed to get a coffee...
