Game 31: Carolina Hurricanes @ Ottawa Senators
The Hurricanes are currently in last place in the National Hockey League, and there's not even another team close to them. They played (and lost) last night in Washington, a game that went into overtime. Should be an easy win, right? Well, you'd think so, but Ottawa does have a history of playing to the level of weaker teams (see: Islanders, 2008-09 season). Who will I be paying attention to in tonight's game?
- Peter Regin - after a great preseason and solid start to the season, the Danish one has been invisible in the attacking zone (unless he's stealing pucks, which he hasn't been doing much of lately). Peter could really use a strong game.
- Ryan Shannon - this guy still doesn't have a goal. He only has 5 points on the season so far, which isn't anywhere near where is output should be. Let's hope he can get his first of the season tonight, and find his groove.
- Nick Foligno - he played great in Thursday's game against the Flyers, scoring the game winner by getting his nose dirty. I hope he does the same tonight.
- Tuomo Ruutu - brother of Jarkko, and a pretty terrific hockey player. I hope to see the brothers get into some good natured shoving at some point.
- Tim Gleason - the Sens drafted him, yet he never wore the black, gold, and red. It's a shame, too, because he's blossomed into a solid player. Last night he took an Ovechkin wrister to the face, received 30 stitches, then returned to get a shorthanded goal.
As always, join in on the fun in the comments before and after the puck drops. Let's go Sens!
