Game 3 Preview and Open Thread: Montréal Victoire @ Ottawa Charge
After a series split in Montréal that saw a quadruple OT loss, the series comes back to Ottawa as they attempt to take the lead once again.
The first two games of this semi-final series were incredibly close as the Ottawa Charge won 3-2 in Game 1 thanks to a late goal from Shiann Darkangelo, then Catherine Dubois was the hero for the Montréal Victoire in a heartbreaking quadruple overtime 3-2 loss on Sunday. The Charge will take a split on the road as they head home to Ottawa, but it sure would feel much nicer being just one game away from the finals.
Here were the lines from last game, with potential changes coming:

Game Notes:
- It's great to see that the Charge had some resiliency in Game Two. They were down 2-0 with just 4:35 to play but were able to send the game to overtime. They were incredibly close to winning the first two games on the road, and they still sit in a good position to win two of the final three games.
- Emerance Maschmeyer is still out with an injury, but Gwyneth Philips has been more than good enough as her replacement and kept them in the impossibly long Game Two.
- Brianne Jenner is the only player on either team with two goals, let's see if she can keep up her solid playoffs so far.
- Ottawa has only had five powerplay opportunities in these two games, with two of them coming on the same 5-on-3 in overtime. They scored on the first one thanks to Jenner, but they've gone 0-for-4 since then. The Victoire also scored on their first powerplay and are 2/6 overall, which is slightly better. A successful powerplay could very well be the difference in a razor-thin matchup.
- I'm really hoping the Ottawa crowd is a big boost for the Charge, just like they were for the Senators. I can't wait to see what that looks like!
- The game begins at 7:00 eastern and can be seen on TSN 1 and 5.
