Game 11 Hub: Ottawa Senators @ Toronto Maple Leafs

When you think about it, "Youth movement" is the perfect description for this team, at least when considering the kind of movement that passes through the digestive system.

Up next for the 29th-place Ottawa Senators (4-6-0 and a +3 goal differential for some reason??? And no, I won't shut up about this) is the first game of the year against their provincial rival, the Windex paper towels.

Artem Zub will be a game-time decision once again. Expect the following lineup if he's not ready:

Game Notes:

• Jakob Chychrun ran leg-first into the post during practice but he'll be good to go tonight.
• One thing the Senators have done a much better job of this season (despite becoming worse everywhere else) has been converting on 5-on-5 opportunities, and scoring in general. They currently have the 4th-best 5-on-5 shooting percentage (as opposed to 32nd last season) and have the 3rd-most goals per 60 minutes at 5-on-5 (as opposed to 24th last season).
• The players clearly still have faith in D.J. Smith as a coach. This is perfectly fine, so long as they understand that as a group, they haven't accomplished anything, and if that persists, a change will rightfully be made.
• It's business as usual for the Toronto Maple Leafs (6-4-2). Their inconsistent starter Ilya Samsonov has shockingly regressed after a Vezina-caliber season, though Joseph Woll has done very well with a .930 save percentage in seven appearances this season. The Big Four is still the Big Four, and while they started the season with a severe lack of secondary scoring, 2021 second-rounder Matthew Knies is coming off a 3-point game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday.
